Apply

Introduction

Thank you for your interest in Internet Champions. Before you begin your application, we ask that you familiarize yourself with our guild. Please read this page to its entirety. Failure to follow all of the instructions on this page will result in your application being denied. Should you have any questions about recruitment, please feel free to private message Gigolo or Cinnaa on our forums.

Please realize that we take recruiting very seriously, we want to add good, smart people that are good mmo players that care about guild progression over their own personal goals. And that is unfortunately close to 1% of the overall population of your average mmo server. We are not elitists whatsoever, we simply don’t want to raid with douchebags, therefore we take our time adding people.

Our Expectations

 Basic Requirements:

  • Attitude: We refuse to raid with assholes, douche-bags, drama queens, creepers, stalkers or immature people of any age. We are a mature, relaxed and fun guild during raids and we plan to keep it that way, attitude is the #1 thing we look out for with any new recruit.
  • Stable Internet Connection: You are no good to us if you ping over 250 constantly or disconnect all the time. Your connection needs to handle running 16 man content in Star Wars: The Old Republic for us to consider you.
  • Communication: You must be able to listen and speak in Ventrilo. We don’t ask for much, but being able to speak in an Operation is a basic necessity for us.
  • Intelligence: We do not expect everyone to have PHD’s in Robotics, but we do expect that you are able to coherently form thoughts and communicate effectively. We expect maturity and professionalism; we are very interested in players who care as much about their guild’s reputation as we do.
  • Gear: We are not gear elitists, all we expect is that the gear you have when you apply reflects the dedication you hopefully will possess as a raider — that is, it is properly enchanted and modified, to the best of your ability.

 Desired Traits:

  • Self-Awareness: We expect members to adapt on-the-fly to different situations and are able to juggle more than just the basic assignment requested of you. While we do not expect perfection, we very much expect that you are aware of the areas of play you need to improve on. If you are not able to realize how to fix your mistakes, be prepared for constructive criticism.
  • Initiative: We look for members that continually strive to better yourself in terms of your knowledge of boss strategies and are constantly seeking ways to improve your character and your own play-style. You are open to experimenting with different gear sets and always come prepared with the correct consumables, enchants, and a focused attitude.
Trial Information

  • Trials are only entitled to rot loot. You are here to make member, not collect loot.
  • Trial Period is a subjective period of time determined by the Guild Council, typically lasting two weeks. But, may be extended or shortened depending on the trial.
  • Trials are judged on attendance, performance and member feedback. Feedback is gathered from current members in a private forum during the trial period.
Application Process

 After you Apply:

Your application will be posted to a private forum where only current guild members can view it and give feedback. After feedback is provided, if we are interested we will contact you either by email or in-game to setup a time for a interview over Ventrilo. After the Ventrilo interview a decision will be made on whether to invite you for a trial period or not.

 The Interview:

The Ventrilo interview is simply a way to get to know you and gain insight on you as a player, the interview is required. We use this time to make sure you are a good fit for the guild and are knowledgeable in your class. It is more intended as a tool to weed out douche-bags, immature people and to see if you actually know your class…it is not a grilling or anything like that.

If you’re accepted as a Trial:

You will be provided with forum access to our private forums, where you will be able to find a “Trial Package” of important information. You will be given a mentor (normally a guild officer of your class) to serve as your primary contact regarding social questions about the guild.

In Closing…

Please keep in mind that we do not know you and your application is your first impression to us. Take your time filling out the application and provide as much information as you can. The more you elaborate and the more effort you put in, the more your application is going to stand out from the rest. We don’t care if you have the best gear in the world — if your application is written poorly, we are going to assume that you take the same attitude towards raiding: that is, little to no effort.

Please note that we will respond to every application by email, it can sometimes take us a bit to respond depending on situation, but we will give you a response. Please double-check your email when applying to make sure it’s correct.

That’s it! Again, if you have any questions, please feel free to private message Gigolo or Cinnaa on our forums or contact them in-game during non-raid hours.
