About Internet Champions

History
Internet Champions started on the 1st day of World of Warcraft's release in late 2004, on the US server Illidan and at that time our guild name was known as "Backrage". Backrage was started soley from players from the RTCW and Enemy Territory community (First Person Shooters), hence the name "Backrage" (a word used to describe bad players who wait around corners to shoot you from behind).

On Illidan, Backrage was a consistent top 3-4 Horde guild starting all the way back to Onyxia and finally ending before Sunwell Plateau, when at that point many core raiders felt the need to take a break from raiding. In the summer of 2008 before the WOTLK expansion, many members came back to the game and we decided to try raiding again.

Before and after Wrath of the Lich King's release, the latency and server performance of Illidan became too much to bear and in mid December of 2008 we decided to paid transfer off Illidan and move our guild to the US server, The Forgotten Coast. The main core of our guild remains the same and we look forward to raiding in a non lag atmosphere and no server queues.

Guild Definition
Internet Champions prides itself on being a guild for people with real lives, we do not raid crazy hours...ever. But, at the same time we also take great pride in being on of the best "pound for pound" guilds on the server, meaning we enjoy the challenge of keeping ourselves on a top-end progression level, without raiding crazy hours.

So, in essence we don't raid all that much (12 hours a week), but when we do we take it very serious and strive to complete as much content as we can in a friendly and casual raid environment.

Guild Structure
Our guild structure normally consists of 2 Co-Guild Leaders and 2 Officers. Any questions, comments or gripes about our guild should be directed to one of these 4 people.

Guild Leader - Giglol
Guild Leader - Cinnaa
Officer - Badkara
Officer - Denegooch

Raiding

Schedule
Our current raid schedule is below, all times are server time (est). Invites go out @ 9:15pm and you are expected to be ready to go and be in front of the portal by 9:30pm.

Monday - 9:30pm - 12:30am
Wednesday - 9:30pm - 12:30am
Thursday - 9:30pm - 12:30am
Sunday - 9:30pm - 12:30am

Item Distribution
We handle all items by Loot Council helped along greatly by raider made "Best in Slot Lists" to help officers make the best decision for the guild possible. The main purpose for our system, is to put gear into the hands of you're most active and dedicated raiders, with overall guild progression in mind.

Best in Slot List
One aspect of our loot system is our "Best in Slot Lists", this is a list of gear that each raider needs to make before we start raiding a certain instance (or group of instances). These lists act as the first qualifier for loot and are very important for a couple of reasons.

1. Making a list, allows us to check if way ahead of time...to see how you gear out your character.
2. This also forces people to think about loot WAY ahead of time and make smarter and not "reactive" decisions on loot.

Example BIS List: Giglol (Protection Paladin)

Head - Valorous Redemption Faceguard - Kel'Thuzad
Neck - Boundless Ambition - Kel'Thuzad
Shoulder - Valorous Redemption Shoulderguards - Loatheb
Cloak - Cloak of the Shattered Sun - Maexxna
Chest - Valorous Redemption Breastplate - The Four Horsemen
Wrist - Bindings of the Hapless Prey - Maexxna
Hands - Valorous Redemption Handguards - Sartharion
Waist - Ablative Chitin Girdle - Maexxna
Legs - Legplates of Sovereignty - Malygos
Feet - Sabatons of Endurance - Thaddius
Ring - Sand Worn Band - Anub'Rekhan
Trinket - Rune of Repulsion - Sapphiron
MH - Last Laugh - Kel'Thuzad
OH - Wall of Terror - Kel'Thuzad

When an item drops, raiders must express interest in the item declaring if the item is a "BIS", "Need" or "Greed" item and also link what piece they currently have in that slot. Best In Slot, means obviously the item is on your list and it is currently the best item you can possibly get for that slot. Need means its an upgrade for you, but there is something else out there that is better. And Greed means, its a very minimal upgrade (or sidegrade) or its for your 2nd spec/offset.

Expectations
We expect our raiders to be proactive in reading strats (posted on the forums or not) and in knowing your class to the best of your ability (reading Elitist Jerks or whatever). It should also go without saying, if we recruit somebody as as certain spec...thats the spec we assume you'll be during raids. We expect people to be on time, if you're going to be late for any reason, simply tell an officer. If you're going to miss a raid, let us know...preferably at least a day ahead of time.

And last but not least, everyone buffs. There is zero excuse for not buffing for every single fight in WOTLK, since all you need is a flask and buff food. Many of us raided in Classic WOW, with 40 member raids and elixirs/flasks that stacked along with random other stuff, that we all farmed and buffed to the gills. A new member not bringing 2 flasks + some buff food to each raid, is an insult to everyone who did. And that person will not last long in this guild.

Application Process

Requirements
Before applying to Internet Champions we have some basic requirements listed below.

Raid Experience/History - Any applicant needs to have some raid experience, a past history is a must.

Character/Gear - Be level 80 and at least somewhat equipped to handle the 25 mans. At a bare minimum, heroic instance or gear.

Reliablity - We maintain a very small raiding force (28 or so raiders), so attendance is key. Be able to make our Raid Schedule and maintain a bare minimum of 75% attendance.

Maturity - Bringing any sort of drama or emo bullshit to the guild is the surest way to get kicked.

Skill - We expect you to know your class, not just one spec. And among other things, we expect you to not stand in fires, do the Heigan dance and not blow up the raid, because you're bad.

Intangibles - Past leadership skills are always a plus. Bringing a likable personality and a sense of humor is always a bonus as well. You should already consider progression raiding fun.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for skilled players, who know their class (or will put in alot of effort to research it) and who care about raid progression and find it fun, but it doesn't encompass their lives. We're not a guild who gives a shit about what # we are in server progression, we raid for fun and try to beat all content as fast as we possibly can without killing ourselves and we're looking for members in the same light.

Vent Interview
If we're interested in your app, we will contact you either in game, or some other form that you left in your app and schedule a vent interview. The vent interview is simply a way for us to talk to you and ask you some questions before we decide to invite you to the guild for a trial.

Trial Period
Our trial period lasts for 2 weeks and during that time the applicant will be tagged and get no loot, other then rots. Your behavior (at all times) and raid performance will be monitored by pretty much every person in the raid. Trials who know their class, show up on time, buff and aren't incredibly fucking annoying on ventrilo should be fine.
